Not Your Momma's Big Brother!
After six seasons of Big Brother, it seemed like the right time for CBS to do an All-Stars edition. There have been so many memorable personalities! The producers, as you know, have narrowed the field to 20 candidates. Leaving it to us…the fans…to choose six. The other six will be picked by the producers. According to Allison Grodner, BB Executive Producer, “It’s been a wild ride. Voting has been amazing. We are in double digits in the millions in terms of votes. We are really excited by the results. So it’s nice that people have been incredibly passionate about it. This year it’s the clash of the titans! The best of the best, to battle it out for the big prize!”You may be wondering what will happen to the 8 that do not make it into the house. When Grodner was asked that question, she said, “All 20 are not going in that house…we may see them again in the future…but not playing the game.” So that may put an end to some rumors flying in forums and reality sites. One of the rumors…14 picture frames were spotted hanging on the memory wall. Grodner explained that was an old memory wall and no truth to there being 14 players. There is also no truth in the rumor that America will vote to evict each week. However, there will be more opportunities for “America’s Vote” (not called America’s Choice) that might impact the game.
It’s the second year in the new Big Brother house but we will not recognize it. The house has been totally revamped using high contrast to match the opposing forces…good vs. evil. Entertainment tonight will give us a tour of the house on July 5th.
This season the producers want to keep the house guest on their toes. They will be turning up the heat. The basic game works but there will be some adjustments this summer. As always expect the unexpected! Grodner says, “It’s not going to be your Momma’s Big Brother!”
