A lot of you have been asking how can it be that Janelle actually walks away with more. Here's your answer:With the exception of 1st and 2nd place, who receive prize money but forfeit their stipend, the Houseguests all receive a stipend of $4,000/week for being in the house, and $5,000/week for being in sequester. When you do the math, you come up with the following for Janelle:
9wks x 4,000 = 36,000
1 wk x 5,000 = 5,000
Prize Money = 25,000
TOTAL = $66,000
Having to forfeit her stipend, Erika's total take from the show was 50k, which, if you really wanna get into the nitty gritty is even less, because in terms of taxes, it's all "prize money," and not "earned income," like the stipend money... and so it is taxed much more heavily.

Woohoo!! Good for Janelle.. And Dang I didn't realize that they got paid sooo much for staying in the house. I don't even make $4,000.00 a week working. *thinks about signing up for BB* lol.. I'm glad Janelle came out on top!!

I heard Jase on a house call saying that they DON"T get paid weekly but a flat amount regardless of how long they stay in the house.
Will got just under 50k, so he got almost as much as Erika too. He won that 5000 in the POV so that takes him to 47000.. :) HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That is tooo funny!

I have heard from tons of people from various sites, including past houseguests and they ALL said they don't get that much at all. I even read the BB contract online. They do get a weekly amount but they don't actually get it until the end of the show. They also said that if they make it to sequester, they forfeit their weekly amount to get the $30,000 so that says their weekly amount comes to less than $30,000 in order for that to happen. In fact, somewhere on the feeds one of the HG's said how much they get weekly & I was shocked at how little it was.
There is NO way 2nd place would take home $50,000 & no stripend if they would have gotten $66,000 for going to the jury. That just wouldn't happen. CBS is cheap but they aren't that cheap.
Oops, forget my last paragraph, I wasn't paying attention that the $25,000 prize money was "the prize money" lol. So 2nd place wouldn't actually lose money that way.
